59 National Parks – Episode 69 in Congaree is a short, fun and educational film. Experience your America!
The National Park Service is charged with the trust of preserving the natural resources of America. There are over 400 areas covering more that 84 million acres in every state. These areas include national parks, monuments, battlefields, military parks and much more.
The National Park Service was created by an Act signed by President Woodrow Wilson on August 25, 1916. Yellowstone National Park was established by an Act signed by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872. Yellowstone was the first national park and since 1872 there have only been 59 areas worthy of being designated national parks.
Generally a national park contains a variety of resources and encompasses large land or water areas to help provide adequate protection of the resources. Experience your America because for over 140 years only 59 areas are that special.
When you visit a national park it is called a cancellation. How many have you canceled?
